Notes and Text:
This course has been
taught -- quite successfully -- for the past several years by Charles
Nash, and so I adopted a "don't fix it if it ain't broke" approach and
followed his notes extremely closely; all of these are now available
below.
Chapter I: Introductory Analysis
Chapter II: Differential Calculus
Chapter III: Integration
Chapter IV: Miscellaneous Topics
If these aren't enough, then the following text (also recommended in
the above notes) might serve as a supplementary source:
D. J. Booth and K. A. Stroud, Engineering Mathematics (Palgrave
MacMillan)
Assessment:
The assessment for this course will be 80% final exam + 20% continuous
assessment. The examination took place on Tuesday, 13 January
2015; here it is,
and here are its solutions. The
continuous assessment was in the form of problem sets given out every
week. And here they are:
Problem Set 1 and
its solutions
Problem Set 2 and
its solutions
Problem Set 3 and
its solutions
Problem Set 4 and
its solutions
Problem Set 5 and
its solutions
Problem Set 6 and
its solutions
Problem Set 7 and
its solutions
Problem Set 8 and
its solutions
Problem Set 9 and
its solutions
Problem Set 10 and
its solutions
