Extracting excitations from a fractional quantum Hall groundstate

Entanglement spectra (ES) have been recently extensively used to probe topological phases. In this talk, we will review both the concept of ES and the main results that have been obtained in the case of the fractional quantum Hall effect. We will show that the groundstate of the such a system contains many informations about its excitations that can be revealed using different types of ES.
