Me, myself and I

So who is this person whose front page you suddenly find yourself gazing at?

I am a senior lecturer (associate professor) in theoretical physics at the National University of Ireland Maynooth. My interest in theoretical physics is joined with a deep interest in philosophy. I am also interested in environmental issues, cycling and choir singing. But enough of that now. If for some bizarre reason you have an interest in my private life, you must look another place.

Please note that most of the material on these pages is quite old.

Physics

My field of research is lattice gauge theory, and particularly gauge theories at high density and temperature, and quark and gluon correlation functions in momentum space. If you want to know more, here are a couple of links you can look at.

Philosophy

This is some of what i have written on philosophical issues:

Diploma thesis: Materie og krefter i kvantefeltteorien - et forsøk på filosofisk belysning (Matter and forces in quantum field theory - an attempt at a philosophical elucidation; in Scandinavian and English translation)
Living in the midst of it all - a sketch of a process philosophy. Talk given at the II Student Philosophical Conference, Burgas, Bulgaria, 1991 (in English).
Between relativism and cultural imperialism. Talk given at the III Student Philosophical Conference, Burgas, Bulgaria, 1992 (in English).
Dyrs erkjennelse og moral (Animal epistemology and ethics). Dissertation for mellomfag in philosophy (equivalent to BA). (In Scandinavian and English translation).
