PhD position in theoretical physics

A PhD position in theoretical physics is available in the Department of Theoretical Physics at Maynooth University.

You will work on a project on "Topological Order, Entanglement and Quantum Information Processing", funded through a Science Foundation Ireland Principal Investigator Award. The principal investigator is Dr. Joost Slingerland.

You should have a degree in physics, mathematics or a related subject and research interests in mathematical physics, theoretical condensed matter physics and quantum information/computation.

The position is fully funded for four years. Funding covers living expenses (stipend of EUR 18,500/yr) as well as postgraduate fees. There is also some flexible funding for computing, travel and other research expenses.
