The sign problem at finite density: a complex solution?
Friday 10 September at 2.15 p.m.
PCT (Physics and Chemistry Theatre), Science Building, NUIM North Campus
Abstract:
Field theories with a complex action, such as QCD with nonzero baryon density, are difficult to simulate numerically, since importance sampling breaks down (sign problem). I review recent progress in tackling the sign problem using stochastic dynamics in a complexified field space.
All are welcome. Tea/coffee and biscuits to follow. For directions to the Dept. please check http://www.thphys.nuim.ie/map.php
