Schrodinger invariant solutions of M-theory (an attempt at non-relativistic AdS/CFT)

Abstract:

Modeling phase transitions in strongly coupled condensed matter systems holographically has been the subject of considerable focus. Although spin systems exhibit Lorentzian symmetry, in general one expects non-relativistic symmetries in condensed matter. Identifying an example of non-relativistic AdS/CFT duality would be a stepping stone towards a better understanding of how to model these theories. We present some progress in that direction.

All are welcome. Tea/coffee and biscuits to follow. For directions to the Dept. please check http://www.thphys.nuim.ie/map.php
