Quantum technology takes advantage of the properties of matter at atomic scales to complete tasks that are impossible using classical computing. Quantum devices are built from a network of building blocks called Quantum logic gates, which can be implemented using lasers interacting with trapped ions. The purpose of this research is to utilise Shortcuts to Adiabaticity to design Transport Quantum Logic Gates that use trapped ions and lasers. First steps towards this goal are outlined here.
