An Application of Quantum Groups: A Toy Standard Model
The basics of Hopf algebras and quantum groups are reviewed, in particular the quantum group SUq(2). As an illustration of how quantum groups may be used, a deformed version of the Standard Model which is symmetric under this quantum group is introduced, and its agreement and disagreement with experiment is discussed.
