Quantum Information in Strongly Correlated Quantum Systems

Naturally occurring many particle quantum systems are often strongly correlated and therefore require complex mathematical tools to describe their dynamics. At the same time they are of large interest to study ideas and concepts of quantum information, which in turn can again provide insight into, say, their statistical properties. In this talk I will present an exactly solvable model for a strongly correlated quantum gas, show how it can be used to study ideas in entanglement theory and outline how close current experimental efforts are to its realisation.
